  Elm pruning season runs between October 1 to March 31. This is to help prevent the introduction of Dutch Elm Disease. Edmonton

has one of the largest, if not the largest uninfected poplulations of Elm trees in the world. This is due in part to Edmonton's by-laws in regards to Elm tree pruning and their regular maintenance program.
